The United States Department of the Interior proposed the renaming of 18 geographic features in Washington state that currently have derogatory names. For the state to provide input within the 60-day federal comment period, which closed April 25, 2022, the Committee on Geographic Names held two special meetings to meet to decide whether and how it wanted to provide comments.
