Landslide hazard heightened with heavy rain
Landslide hazard increases exponentially with heavy rains like these December atmospheric rivers. Fortunately DNR - as home to the Washington Geological Survey - has some of the world’s foremost landslide geologists studying the stability of slopes around the state.
Find out the landslide hazard in your neighborhood, and how you can identify and reduce landslide hazards around your home at DNR.wa.gov/landslides
If you are impacted by or suspect an active landslide, contact your county emergency manager or your local fire, police, or public works department. If you are in immediate danger, evacuate and call 911.
