Public Invited to Comment on Proposed Trust Land Exchange in Jefferson County

The exchange aims to consolidate trust lands for more efficient management while supporting fish and wildlife habitat

 
The Washington State Department of Natural Resources will hold a presentation and public hearing about a proposed exchange of state trust lands on July 9. The proposal would exchange up to 1,460 +/- acres in Jefferson County for up to 1,027 +/- acres of private property in Jefferson County, with the objectives to consolidate trust lands, improve land management efficiencies for trust revenue, support fish and wildlife habitat, and to enhance access to trust lands. The equal in value property would be provided by the Nature Conservancy.
