• Tread Lightly. This organization provides tips on responsible recreation for a variety of off-road vehicle (ORV) riding activities.

Washington Organizations

• All Wheelers Off Road Club. Promotes responsible family outdoor fun, Tread Lightly principles, maintains existing trail systems, and works to establish new legal trails.
• Pacific Northwest Four Wheel Drive Association. Emcompasses member clubs and individuals to promote and improve vehicle-oriented outdoor recreation while preserving the environment.
• Washington Off Highway Vehicle Alliance. Promotes and organizes about responsible off-highway vehicle use.
• Washington State Snowmobile Association. Works to protect access to public lands and to promote snowmobiling.

DNR Recreation Resources

• Where to Recreate on DNR-managed Lands. Where DNR's recreation areas and trails are located, what sites are open or closed, and other relevant information.
• DNR Maps. Download or purchase a variety of maps including quandrangle, state forest, and trail maps.
• DNR's Recreation Guide. Statewide map of DNR's designated recreation areas. Provides a key to the different type of recreation uses permitted in each area and driving directions.
• Safety Video: Spark Arrestors. DNR's video explaining the requirement to have spark arrestors on ORVs while recreating on DNR-managed lands.
